With her debut solo release, Infinite Possibilities, Amel Larrieux helped solidify the burgeoning “neo-soul” movement as a true alternative to the cookie cutter hip hop-soul that was cluttering the airwaves in early 2000. I first heard of this group (fronted by the original Robin Thicke: Jon B) on the Red Star Sounds soundtrack, and even though they never officially released an album it’s not hard to find.
